A robust door works only when operation, escape width, seals and surroundings work together.
Define clear operating space on both sides. Plan a small transition area for wet clothing, footwear, waste and cleaning without narrowing the escape route. Select the door system to match the verified room concept, not for an aggressive appearance.
Check substrate, frame, seals, hardware and operating force. Every intended occupant must be able to use the door without specialist knowledge. Also assess whether water, debris or deformation could block its swing.
Operate the door regularly, maintain seals as specified and keep the area clear. Keys, emergency release and lighting must be unambiguous and locatable during a power failure.
