Planning

Define outside-air intake, exhaust, duct route, penetrations and room distribution. Intake and exhaust must not short-circuit and must be kept away from exhaust fumes, flooding and easily blocked positions. Sizing belongs in qualified ventilation design.

Inspection

Measure carbon dioxide, temperature and relative humidity during an occupied test. Check airflow, noise, draughts and alarm thresholds. Odour or a running fan does not prove adequate ventilation.

Operation and maintenance

Filters, fans, backflow components and external terminals need inspection and fixed replacement intervals. Document clear modes for normal operation, failure and evacuation. Leave the room if air quality becomes uncertain.
